GENERAL
INFORMATION AND ADVICE All
our recordings were designed and dictated onto cassettes by the founder of the
business Trevor Burton, who was an experienced and qualified teacher of Business Studies,
including Teeline, Pitman New Era and Pitman 2000 Shorthand. All
the shorthand dictation material will increase your shorthand vocabulary and
speed, to enable you to pass your examinations and improve your career
prospects.
SPEED
BUILDING (SB) The
first two speed building cassettes/CDs in each group contain short passages
which are dictated and repeated at a higher speed to ‘stretch’ you.
There is no repetition on the other cassettes, although an occasional
passage on one cassette/CD is dictated on another at a faster speed.
There is gradual progression in speed from the first to the last
cassette/CD in each speed group, with most groups building shorthand vocabulary
and speed by 20 words per minute (wpm). An
English Word List with a selected Outlines Key is provided for the speed
building in Teeline, Pitman New Era or Pitman 2000 Shorthand. .Printed
instructions for obtaining maximum benefit from the course are also provided. Minimum
order is 2 cassettes / cds, discount for 3
or more at once. DESIGN
YOUR OWN SPEED BUILDING COURSE by
selecting any of the cassettes listed. For Speed Building you should start at
the speed you have already accomplished. For
example, if you can write at 60wpm and wish to attain 80wpm you need the
cassettes from the group headed 60/80wpm - which are designed to increase
shorthand vocabulary and speed from 60 to 80 in easy stages. PLEASE

STUDY Contains General Medical, Legal and Vocabulary courses and single cassettes/CDs for Journalists Dictation, 700 most common english words and other vocabulary. English Word Lists and Shorthand Keys are provided where appropriate for Specialist Study.
